Wrexham Business AROW Fitness helps men

An online fitness company is helping men in their 20s and 30s make lifestyle and body changes.

Alex Rowlands, who runs AROW Fitness, says he’s a passionate advocate for people improving through health and fitness.

AROW Fitness has been running since 2019. Alex did personal training on the side for about a year before taking the full leap to build AROW Fitness and work full time at Impact MMA in Rhos.

The pandemic presented an opportunity for business as all other gyms were closed. Alex started doing free live workouts every day on Instagram, and later the business went fully online.

Alex, who grew up in Rhosllanerchrugog and still lives, said when he left school he felt insecure and had walked “some bad paths”.

He first hit the gym when he was 18 and never imagined the career he would end up in. He said he found early on that there was a connection between exercise and mental health, and now teaches his clients the same.

Alex said: “I know firsthand what it feels like to be unhappy with yourself and how it makes you feel on a daily basis.

“It wasn’t until I started taking my health really seriously and working every day to improve my relationship with myself that things started to change.

“As I have helped hundreds of others to do the same.”

AROW helps men in their 20s and 30s better manage their diet and exercise so they look their best and grow and develop as people.

Alex explained that he knows what it’s like to make an effort to deal with it effectively and is on a mission to help men break through this and bring clarity to how people make a lasting transformation of their bodies and can achieve in their lives.

The program they teach includes structured exercise and nutritional support, help with accountability and support from the community around them.

AROW Fitness has a one-to-one support section to assist clients on their journey and also with regular checkpoints to gauge progress on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

AWROW Fitness is also building a community for anyone with similar ambitions to come together where men can find consistency and motivation.

Sessions are no longer conducted face-to-face, but Alex says it’s not necessary.

He explained, “One hour a week doesn’t really help the client get the desired results as efficiently.

“So we take a full 360 degree approach to connect all the components when it comes to getting the desired result.

“Nevertheless, we get together every month for a group workout or other activity, followed by a feast.

“For example, this month a large group of us are walking up Snowdon to raise awareness of men’s mental health.”

He added: “I am really excited to see what else we will achieve together by the end of the year.

“Going forward, I look forward to continuing to build this community and helping hundreds more live better lives.”
