Locals are offering their houses for rent during this year’s Glastonbury Festival for more than £3,000 a night. The homes are being advertised as 200,000 people are expected to come to Pilton between June 22nd and 26th.
The majority of these revelers will set up camp at the massive 1,000-acre festival site, but a number of properties in the area have also been listed on online home rental marketplace AirBnb, reports Somerset Live. With festive luxuries – a clean toilet, shower and a bit of rest – these homes offer a stunning bounty.
A tiny one bedroom cottage in the village of Pilton is being advertised for £6,222 for the five nights of the festival. That makes £1,244 a night for the property.

The 400-year-old, listed cottage “was lovingly and sympathetically renovated,” says the ad. It’s a short walk from the festival site and features “a super comfy king-size bed, a plush velvet sofa and a wood-burning stove”.
Also available in Pilton is a four bedroom ‘festival party house’ listed at £16,048 for the five nights of the festival. That makes £3,209 a night for the property.
According to the listing, the “very special house, plum in the middle of downtown Pilton” is a ten-minute walk from the Pyramid Stage. The ad promises “fresh toilets, hot baths, great beds, comfortable furniture, a working kitchen, and a private garden.”
Further afield, a house in Shepton Mallet has been listed for £2,156 for the five nights of the festival. That equates to £431 per night for accommodation.
The modern four bedroom home is over two miles from the festival site. It features “a large back garden, gated private driveway and two master bedrooms with brand new luxury mattresses,” according to the listing.
Homeowner David Taylor promoted Shepton Mallet’s listing on Facebook, writing: “The people who rented our house for Glastonbury have had to pull out so it can be rented again. Let’s clarify a few things in relation to price, the majority of rental properties in the Pilton area are fully booked for crew, news teams etc during the festival.
“Therefore prices are high so yes if you and a few friends stay it will seem like a lot of money whilst the bigger companies are more than happy to pay those amounts which is why properties in Pilton are selling for over £5,000. I appreciate the comments about it costing a lot, but those are the prices the properties fetch, so it’s fixed at the amount it is.”
