I’m a chef – there’s an easy way to mimic an Olive Garden favorite, and they taste exactly the same

FANS of Olive Garden can now enjoy unlimited breadsticks at home with this amazing copycat recipe.

The famous breadsticks have become a fan favorite, leaving people wondering what makes them so good.

The Italian-American restaurant is known for its unlimited breadsticks

Leigh Anne Wilkes came up with a recipe to make perfect breadstick dupes at home.

Ingredients include active dry yeast, flour, butter, sugar, salt, garlic powder, and oregano.

She states that both salted or unsalted butter and unbleached all-purpose flour or bread flour will work.

If you’re wary of making bread from scratch for the first time, Wilkes says you can use frozen bread dough instead.

In a bowl, sprinkle the yeast over warm water and wait a moment until it becomes frothy.

Combine sugar, butter, salt and flour in a large bowl. Pour in the yeast mixture and knead until the dough is sticky.

This step can also be done with a standing mix using the hook attachment.

Add more flour and continue mixing until a soft, smooth dough forms.

Divide the dough and roll out the portions into breadsticks. Wilkes says they should be 7 inches long to mimic Olive Garden’s serving size.

Let them rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, then mix together melted butter, garlic powder, and oregano for the topping.

Brush each breadstick with the mixture and bake in a 400 degree oven for about 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Once done, brush on the remaining butter mixture and enjoy!

This recipe makes about 16 breadsticks, so consider cutting them in half or setting some dough aside and freezing for later.

You can also make a sweet version of these by brushing them with butter and then sprinkling a cinnamon-sugar mixture on top when they come out of the oven.

That seems like a lot of work, but it’s nothing compared to how it’s done in Olive Garden kitchens.

A contributor known only as EricZona shared the “secret” on Reddit, sending fans into a frenzy.

They estimated that the kitchen makes around 2,000 breadsticks every night.

They also claimed the secret of the signature recipe was liquid margarine and garlic salt.

Fans have found a way to personalize meals with the restaurant’s “secret menu.”

Customers can mix and match their samplers to add extra servings of their favorite foods.

In a scenario where you have three options but only two, you might decide to get an extra helping of the food you like.

All you have to do is ask your server and they will likely accommodate your needs.

Customers can also ask for an extra sauce if they want to add a little more flavor to their pasta dish, for example.

It’s perfect for those who have finished their pasta dish but want to mop up the remaining sauce with the garlic bread they ordered.

Guests are warned that it might come at an additional cost, but if it adds a little extra flavor then it’s worth the risk.
