A family-run care home in Suffolk is planning to use funds raised from its Easter raffle to surprise residents with a refurbishment of its gardens to boost well-being ahead of the quickly approaching summer season.

The Dell in Lowestoft, part of the Wellbeing Care group, has raised an impressive triple-digit sum in its annual Easter Raffle, which will be used to upgrade its outdoor space with furniture and plants for residents to enjoy after two challenging years of lockdown.

There were 45 eggs in the Easter raffle – excellent prizes including a Dove basket of toiletries and a homemade Easter bunny with an egg, with the top prize, a diving lesson, going to the home’s new assistant manager, Simon Fletcher.

Proceeds go towards new patio furniture and items, as well as colorful plants that brighten up the Dell’s outdoor space for residents to enjoy as summer is just around the corner.

Daphne Graves, Clinical Director at Dell and organizer of the Easter Raffle said: “I started the Easter Raffle because I felt it was a fantastic way to raise money for renovations at the Dell while boosting the morale and well being of the residents to increase.

“The residents’ family and friends, as well as our own care team, have been so generous with their donations and we thank them for their contribution, which has enabled us to give the residents a lovely and much-needed surprise.

“We look forward to using the funds raised to purchase some furniture and plants to enhance the home’s gardens this summer.

“We hold regular charity events throughout the year to reach out to amenities, but our current aim is to enhance our outdoor offering and ensure the garden is a beautiful, cozy place for our residents to enjoy after two years of lockdown .”
