Carol Winstanley began her incredible weight loss journey four years ago after a one day revelation.
Since then, following serious advice from her doctor and taking enough of the pressure off her quality of life, she has lost about half her body weight.
The 51-year-old said: “I came back from visiting family in America and just thought next time I won’t be able to fit in the plane seat.
“I couldn’t even fit into my own car without the steering wheel digging into my stomach.
“The doctor said that with knee replacement surgery I was heading for a heart attack or stroke. I couldn’t engage in the basic things in life like walking or even enjoying days with family.”

Carol knew she needed to do something about her weight, so she spoke to a personal trainer who helped her embrace a new healthy lifestyle.
She said: “He told me: I can help you, you just have to trust me and you will lose it. I thought you were my last hope, so I did.
“It took 18 months and was a tough process. I’ve had to cut down, change my meal types, and exercise about four times a week.
The trainer saw that she had a real passion for exercise and suggested that she should do it for a living. Carol said, “I decided to become a personal trainer and help others achieve their goals.”
She started a course and passed her level three.
Carol added: “I used to hate sports. I’ve always finished last in a running race, but now I love running. I am currently training for the London marathon in October.”
Speaking of her radically different new career path, Ms. Winstanley said, “I am extremely fortunate to work for an amazing and supportive team at Total Fitness and have even started my own business, CW Fitness.
“I am currently working with clients who want to lose weight, doing rehabilitation work and assisting with diet and lifestyle changes.
“I like to help other people.
“Sometimes it’s just better to train with someone who understands how you’re feeling.”
