Simon recently opened up The sun on the impact his e-bike injuries have had on his physical and mental health. The accident left him with a steel bar in his back after being bedridden at his Malibu home for a month. “I first thought about therapy when I broke my back because I was very, very, very, low,” he told the newspaper. I was very depressed because I didn’t know how to explain this to Eric. I couldn’t do everything I wanted with him. I wasn’t sure if I could ever walk again or ever play football with him.”

Simon seemed relaxed despite his injuries

“That was a low point. I took a lot of painkillers, but I stopped taking them very quickly. I didn’t want to go that route,” he continued. “In the end I decided against therapy because I had great doctors, Lauren was great and Eric was amazing.

“I still wear a back brace that I have to wear when I go out on my bike and there are pretty big screws in my back for life.”
