Lily-Lark’s signature luxury sunshade parasols are complemented by a new elegantly minimalist parasol design at a lower price.
NEW YORK, April 11, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Just as the summer days return, there’s a new form of skin protection under the sun. Lily-Lark’s new diffusion line of UPF 50+ sunshades, Lark, combines quality design with affordability. The Lark Parasol will feature a collection of 10 curated artist designed prints. Lily-Lark’s original signature line will launch its own range of 8 new prints for Summer 2022.
Lily-Lark introduces 18 new UPF 50+ parasol prints this season. In addition, the range has been expanded to include a new, cheaper parasol. Between the signature Lily-Lark and the new line called Lark, there are 4 sizes of parasols to choose from, all discounted during the Kickstarter launch.

The signature Lily-Lark is a hybrid construction that takes advantage of the beauty of the Asian bamboo frame but is linked to contemporary visual art imagery. With the addition of the new line, the two collections offer a range of colors and patterns to suit any fashionista who cares about their skin. Image rights: Angelika Büttner
Lark is the culmination of an extensive design process to maintain the luxurious Lily Lark feel at an affordable price. The result is a slightly stripped down, more minimalist parasol that requires less labor to produce.
Among the newly introduced prints is a selection of neutral shades created with fashion flexibility and appeal for all genders. Some prints are figurative, some abstract…there’s a Lily Lark print for every stylish setting.
This is a new chapter for the company from Lily-Lark’s Founder, CEO and Creative Director Lisa Selwitz remarked, “With the launch of 19 new prints and a more affordable parasol, we’re aiming to make serious sun protection appealing to more people.”
Selwitz is particularly excited about a new Lark print. “It was designed in collaboration with vintage fashion lover and Egyptologist Colleen Darnell, aka @vintage_egyptologist. dr Darnell has been a fan and friend of Lily-Lark for many years. She suggested using art from ceiling patterns of tombs, circa 1300 BC, to create a print.” The result is called WASET, named after the ancient city where the tombs are located. The artwork is from Stephan JansOwner of the textile studio PRINTS OF ORANGE.
Lily-Lark’s distinctive parasols combine a stunning, handcrafted bamboo frame with a striking canopy of sun-blocking fabric. A matching carry case makes it easy to take a Lily-Lark with you for a stroll down city streets, a day at the beach, or just running errands…all occasions that require shade.
The company began when Selwitz, concerned about aging in an aging industry, became passionate about skin care. “I was still trying to protect my career and my skin, and to protect my skin from premature aging I had an idea for this fun umbrella,” she says. Using her skills as a creative director, she launched a company that celebrates beauty of all ages. Lily-Lark is steeped in Selwitz’s love of art and design; She says, “When I see a work of art that just hits me over the head as the perfect parasol to have over my head, I follow my instincts.”
