Kanye West wanted to quit music before the Pete Davidson drama to become Kim Kardashian’s stylist

Kim Kardashian gives fans a glimpse of her relationship with her estranged husband Kanye West before dating Pete Davidson in the first episode of the new Hulu series The Kardashians

Kim Kardashian has said that estranged husband Kanye West intended to quit music to become the reality star’s stylist before she started dating Pete Davidson.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, 41, began dating the Saturday Night Live comedian, 28, late last year and soon became embroiled in a bitter public spat with her estranged husband, 44.

The powerhouse rapper has targeted the mother of his four children and her new boyfriend on social media, claiming he feels Kim would become addicted to drugs if she were in Pete’s company.

But the first episode of the Kardashian family’s new Hulu series sees the pair in slightly more amicable times ahead of Kim’s Saturday Night Live hosting gig late last year.

During a lunch with sisters Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, Kim shares that Kanye opened up about how he wanted to “give it all up” and “dedicate his life to the beauty mogul’s stylist.”

Khloe, 37, looked puzzled and suggested: “I think maybe he should do some more music, some Adidas design and then he can do that on the side.”

Speaking to the cameras, Kim explained that she and Kanye “remain friends” despite their divorce.

She continued, “He always dressed me, he always styled me. In the early 2000’s he was literally sending me random emails with all these looks and what my style should be.”

Kim said Kanye would email her tips like “Only wear cropped tops and pencil skirts” or “It’s all about a boot with a skirt” alongside reference images.

The Skims founder concluded, “It’s always been our thing, but there’s a side of me that also wants total independence.”

Kim and Kanye broke news of their split in January last year and filed for divorce a month later.

Kim was first romantically linked to Pete in November 2021 when they were snapped holding hands on a roller coaster shortly after their SNL hosting debut, in which she kissed during a skit with Pete.

Meanwhile, Kanye has now vowed to seek help after distressing his ex-wife after months of public outbursts against the reality star and her new boyfriend.

Ye, who has been struggling with bipolar disorder, reportedly vowed to “go away and get better,” and reportedly retired from headlining Coachella later that month.

The Kardashians will be available to stream on Hulu and Disney+ starting April 14.
